lyrics

George Dunton, who'd been fishing more than 20 years longer than I had (I wouldn't believe him)
But this was the day, and this is the man

As you could see, he's very old indeed. And if you wanna know how old he is, I'll tell you...
...he's 100 years old

I think he caught his last salmon at the age of 95, then he lost his wife. He thought, perhaps, that he would never fish again.

Now, unexpectedly he's getting out the fishing tackle he had put away, and it's a beautiful tackle. Beautiful, beautiful old tackle!
He must get tired. None of us could imagine what it's like to be 100 years old.

He's 100 years old.

[ Long we've tossed on the rolling main
Now we're safe ashore
Don't forget your old shipmate
Don't forget your old shipmate]
